HOW TO PROPOSE A ROUNDTABLE

If you have an idea for a roundtable that you feel would fit well for our group, please simply send us an email to the address at the bottom of this page.  In your message, please include the following information:

Subject line:  Proposal for ESOL Roundtable

Items to include in the body of the proposal.

  1. An abstract of no more than 150 words describing what, exactly, you would like to discuss in the roundtable.

  2. Names and short bios of the presenters.

  3. The date and time when you would like for us to host it.

We will have our reviewers look over your proposal and notify of the results.

If you have an idea for a roundtable that you would like to see, but do not have potential participants, you can still drop us an email to suggest a topic.  If we know of people knowledgable in that area, we will try to get them!

Important Notes:

  • Roundtables should not last more than 60 minutes.

  • All roundtable participants should use a good quality headset with microphone.  Microphones built into laptops (or even desktops) tend to result in a lot of white noise and should be avoided if possible.  Also, the use of headsets helps to prevent echo issues.

  • We recommend the use of a high definition (1080p) webcam for all those participating.  Since the roundtables are all recorded and available on YouTube, the use of good equipment helps us to produce high-quality videos.
